LISTENING WITH DIFFERENT TYPES OF PHONE PLAYERS

(Apple Music etc.)

On iPhone (iOS Devices)

The Apple Music app provides seamless integration for AAC files, making it the easiest way to listen.

  1. Transfer the Files to Your iPhone:
    • Download the AAC files from your Pure Human Music account or email link to a computer (Mac or Windows).
    • Connect your iPhone to the computer via USB cable.
    • On a Mac: Open the Music app (or Finder on macOS Catalina+), select your iPhone from the sidebar, and drag the AAC files (or folder) into the app’s library. Then sync to your device.
    • On Windows: Use the Apple Devices app or iTunes, connect your iPhone, and add files via “File > Add File to Library” or drag-and-drop. Sync the library to your phone.
    • Wireless alternative: Upload files to iCloud Drive on your computer, then on your iPhone, open the Files app, locate the files, tap one, and select “Open in Music” to add them to your library.
  2. Play in the Apple Music App:
    • Open the Music app (purple icon with a musical note).
    • Go to Library > Songs, Albums, or Recently Added—your tracks should appear here.
    • Tap a song to start playback, or create a playlist (e.g., “Pure Human Music”) by tapping the “+” icon.
    • For hands-free: Use Siri by saying, “Hey Siri, play [song name] by [artist].”
    • Offline mode: Since the files are local, no internet is needed—perfect for travel or low-signal areas.
  3. Enhance Your Experience:
    • If you prefer advanced features like custom EQ or better organization, try third-party apps like VOX or Evermusic from the App Store. Transfer files via the methods above and play directly in the app.
    • Tip: Enable High-Quality Audio in Settings > Music for optimal playback, though AAC 320 kbps is already top-tier.

On Android Devices

Android offers flexibility with file management, so you can use built-in or third-party players for the best experience.

  1. Transfer the Files to Your Android Device:
    • Download the AAC files from your Pure Human Music account or email link directly to your phone (via browser or the Files app), or first to a computer.
    • USB method (recommended for speed): Connect your phone to a computer with a USB cable, enable file transfer mode (in notifications), and copy the files to a folder like Music or Downloads (create a “Pure Human Music” subfolder for organization).
    • Wireless method: Upload files to Google Drive, Dropbox, or OneDrive from your computer, then download them on your phone using the respective app.
  2. Play the Files:
    • Using a Built-in Player: Many Android phones (e.g., Samsung, Google Pixel) have a stock Music app. Open it, scan for new files (or browse to your Music folder), and play your tracks. AAC is natively supported, so it should work seamlessly.
    • Recommended Third-Party Players (for superior features):
      • VLC for Android (free, versatile): Install from the Google Play Store, open the app, browse to your Music folder, and play. It supports AAC with excellent EQ, gapless playback, and offline mode.
      • Poweramp (paid, audiophile-grade): Great for custom interfaces, powerful equalizers, and tag editing. On first launch, it scans your folders automatically—select your Pure Human Music files and enjoy.
      • Other free options: AIMP or BlackPlayer for clean playback and playlist creation.
    • Offline tip: All playback is local, so no data usage or streaming required.
  3. Enhance Your Experience:
    • Create playlists in your chosen app for easy access.
    • For high-quality output, pair with wired headphones or a Bluetooth DAC—AAC 320 kbps shines on good gear.
    • If your device supports it, enable hi-res audio in the player settings (though not necessary for AAC).

Troubleshooting for Both Devices

  • If files don’t appear: Double-check the transfer and rescan your library (in app settings).
  • Format confirmation: AAC files usually end in .m4a or .aac—most players handle them without issues.
  • Backup: Store copies on cloud storage or an external drive to protect your collection. If you encounter any problems, reach out to support@purehumanmusic.com.
